Top Tips - Keeping Healthy Teeth


It's no secret that keeping healthy teeth will prevent tooth decay and keep you away from the dentist! So, here are some easy to remember tips for adults and children:


  1. Brush your teeth twice a day; always before bed time and one other time
  2. Use a fluoride based toothpaste [children from 2+]
  3. For children 2+ use a pea sized amount of toothpaste
  4. For children under 2 use a soft brush and tap water only [toothpaste is not recommended for children under 2]
  5. It's always good to have an adult supervise children under 6 when brushing teeth - avoid any bad habits!
  6. After brushing, spit out excess toothpaste but don't rinse mouth as this washes the fluoride away
  7. Clean between teeth with floss
  8. Continue with the same routine from 7+
  9. Reducing intake of sugary foods and drinks will help to fight tooth decay in both children and adults
  10. Try to limit sugary foods and drinks to mealtimes
